Changing the mindset: DR-TB Preventive therapy & Non-Sputum Testing

Despite growing evidence and clear global guidance, innovative tools for drug‑resistant TB preventive therapy (DR‑TPT) and non‑sputum (stool)–based TB testing remain underused in many settings. Bridging the gap between policy and practice requires a shift in mindset.

On April 21, 2026, KNCV Philippines and KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation hosted an online session focusing on accelerating uptake and implementation of the latest guidelines, tools, and country experience from the Philippines related to DR‑TB preventive treatment and stool-based testing. Global experts, implementers, and national TB program representatives came together to explore what it takes to move from guidance to routine practice.

The session covered:

• Updates on global evidence and WHO guidelines for DR‑TB preventive therapy and stool testing.
