KNCV supports Uganda in costing its TB and Leprosy Strategic Plan using the WHO Integrated Health Tool (IHT)
Uganda has taken a significant step toward ending TB and leprosy by initiating the costing of its National Strategic Plan (NSP) 2025/26–2029/30 with technical support from KNCV TB Plus.

Despite uncertainties in budget and incidence trends, Uganda’s National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) is pressing forward with determination and innovation. Over the past weeks, KNCV provided hands-on support in using the World Health Organization's (WHO) Integrated Health Tool (IHT), a standardized platform that enables countries to generate reliable costing, scenario modeling, and resource need estimates.
During the technical review workshop, KNCV expert, Moses Arinaitwe, facilitated discussions on assumptions, demographic projections, and costing methods. A roadmap for detailed inputs was agreed upon, setting the stage for a full NSP costing draft within weeks.

“Uganda’s TB program may face resource gaps, but it is powered by an enthusiastic team that is determined to accelerate progress toward the End TB targets,”
This milestone reflects Uganda’s commitment to evidence-based planning and KNCV’s ongoing role as a trusted partner in the global fight against TB.
