KNCV ACTS
Accelerated Coordinated Technical and Programmatic Support for Country-led TB Response (ACTS).

Recent funding interruptions have led to direct service disruptions affecting people with tuberculosis (TB) and have weakened the coordination of national TB programs (NTPs) worldwide. KNCV's strategic approach aims for system readiness to scale-up through effective, sustainable, locally led interventions for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The current landscape and our strategic vision and approaches ignited the initiation of the KNCV ACTS Project.
Accelerated Coordinated Technical and Programmatic Support for Country-led TB Response.
This project aims to support country-led TB response initiatives by focusing on mitigating service disruptions across the care continuum while bolstering NTPs approaches. The project seeks to assist countries with comprehensive technical assistance (TA) to:
- maintain diagnostic and care enrolment capacity,
- strengthen health system resilience,
- explore domestic financing options, and
- ensure efficient coordination amidst resource scarcity.
The support will be country-led and needs-driven, deploying multidisciplinary teams for both remote (virtual) and in-country assistance.

Project countries
The countries supported by this project have been selected based on criteria including the risk of losing TB gains, the degree of dependence on external funding, operational feasibility, and alignment with KNCV strategy.
The current project countries are divided into two tiers:
- Tier 1: Philippines, Myanmar and Tanzania
- Tier 2: Indonesia, Tajikistan and Zambia
Additional countries can be identified based on requests from the countries themselves and discussions with our global partners (World Health Organization, the Global Fund, and the Stop TB Partnership/Global Drug Facility).
KNCV ACTS approach
Per country, one of the KNCV's Senior Technical Consultants will be appointed as Country Coordinator. The Country Coordinator will assess the country needs together with the NTP. These activities fit in with the current cycle of strategic planning and reprioritizations of the Global Fund.
Based on the new strategic plans, additional technical assistance needs can be identified.
This project is conducted in collaboration with:
- National TB Programs (NTPs)
- WHO Global Programme on TB and Lung Health, WHO Regional Offices and WHO Country Offices
- The Global Fund
- Stop TB Partnership/Global Drug Facility
- In-country partner organizations
